Alberton Wrestling Profile:

Est. 1958
Alberton Wrestling Club was established in August 1958 by CF Herselman and was known as the Generaal Alberts Amateur Stoeiklub. The first home of the club was in Laerskool Generaal Alberts from 1958 untill 1972.

The Executive Committee consisted of the following members:

Chairman: J Van Rensburg
Vise Chairman: T Venter
Secretary: E Landsberg
Coach: C Herselman
Additional Member: HJ Jonker

On the 19th of June 1974 the name changes to Alberton Amateur Stoeiklub.
On a few occations the wrestling club moved to new premises and is now situated since 1976 in the Hennie Jonker Hall in Second Ave, Alberton.
In 2010 the Executive committee has decided to change the name once again to ALBERTON WRESTLING ACADEMY / ALBERTON STOEI AKADEMIE
